A flypast to mark the forthcoming retirement of the Hercules from RAF service took place this afternoon (Wednesday), and the County Press would love to see your footage.

Already, County Press readers have been sending in their pictures and videos of the big event.

Three aircraft skirted across the top of the Isle of Wight earlier today.

The first Hercules arrived at Marshall’s of Cambridge in December, 1966.

Be sure to find the County Press on both Facebook and Instagram, and send us your snaps for a chance to feature in a gallery.

Since entering RAF service, it has operated across the globe in support of UK military and humanitarian relief operations.

The transition to the 22-strong Atlas (A400) fleet and other air mobility aircraft has been ongoing for some time.

47 Squadron and the Hercules will continue to deliver on operations supporting UK defence objectives until June 30.
