I write following the recent published letter complaining about naturist use of Yaverland Beach (CP 09-06-23).
You may, or may not be aware that naturism in this country is a perfectly legal activity.
Simple naturism does not amount to indecent exposure.
Also under the College of Policing guidance, police call handlers have instructions to explain to anybody who calls to report naturist walkers, beach users etc that no offences are being committed and police attendance is not necessary.

There is also no evidence that naturism or the site of the naked body is harmful to children or, for that matter, adults.

I feel publishing this letter failed to represent these facts and misinform the general public about the legality of naturism.
I would also like to direct you to the British Naturism website.
The use of Yaverland for naturism, used for many years, is in fact a perfectly legal
activity.
