ONE OF the favourite events on the Isle of Wight charity fun run calendar — the annual 5km Dash 'n' Splash between Shanklin and Sandown — is back this Sunday.

At 10am, runners will take on a straightforward beach route — with no less than 43 groynes to negotiate — in aid of Aspire in Ryde.

The run will start from the apron of the former Shanklin Pier, heading towards Yaverland car park, the finish line.

The event normally attracts around 200 runners.
