A teenager was arrested after allegedly taking a car and crashing it into a wall whilst under the influence of alcohol and drugs during the early hours of this morning (Friday, July 7). 

Police received a report at 12.50am that a car had been taken from an address in Newport.

It was later reported to police that the same vehicle had collided with a wall on Town Lane in Chale Green.

The car was recovered and an 18-year-old man from Newport was arrested on suspicion of aggrevated vehicle taking, vehicle damage, drink and drunk driving.

He has been released from police under investigation.
