THERE are a number of road closures by the Isle of Wight Council for tonight's Sandown Carnival.
If you live outside of Sandown and plan to drive to go to watch it, be sure to know which roads to avoid.
Thanks to Island Roads, we have provided a handy guide of the ones to avoid, between the hours of 3pm and 10.30pm today (Saturday).
- Culver Parade — along its entire length.
- Sandown Esplanade — between Esplanade Road and Avenue Road slipway.
- High Street — along its entire length (as the procession moves along it).
- Beachfield Road — between its junctions with Royal Crescent and High Street.
- Royal Crescent — along its entire length.
- Melville Street — between its junctions with Royal Crescent and Fitzroy Street.
- Fitzroy Street — between its junctions with Melville Street and Station Avenue.
- Station Avenue — between its junctions with Fitzroy Street and Albert Road.
- Albert Road — between its junctions with Station Avenue and Victoria Road.

The restrictions, required for safety during the main carnival, will apply on both sides of all roads listed.
Alternative routes will be signposted.
