PEOPLE from across the Isle of Wight and locals came out in their thousands to enjoy the spectacle of another vibrant Sandown Carnival.
A myriad of floats with interesting and unusual themes, colourfully costumed characters and marching bands, wound their way through Sandown — which made for a magical carnival, with a hint of Rio de Janeiro about it, for all the family last night (Saturday).
Joining the event, on behalf of the County Press, was our guest reporter, TV comedy star, Josh Widdicombe, who posted live Facebook reports from the event, interacted with the crowds and wrote his own report on his 'Top 5' costumed entries.
Sandown Children's Carnival preceded the main procession, with lots of eye-catching and imaginative entries, as individuals, pairs and groups.
Unfortunately for regular carnival goers, they won't see The Wight Strollers this year, after they were unable to to find a premises to build and paint their float at.
