Yarmouth’s Carnival Week – the 111th of its kind – got underway on August 5, offering visitors to the West Wight town a whole week of carnival fun.
This year included decorated dinghies, river sports, a treasure hunt, a fun run, sandcastles, teddy bears’ picnics, competitions, golf on the green, crabbing, a dog and pet show, historical talks and pirates on the pier.
On the final day of Carnival Week (Saturday), the town’s parade brought Yarmouth alive with eye-catching costumes and music.
A spokesperson for the carnival said: “Thanks to all of you who took part in our events throughout the week, to all of our sponsors and helpers and, of course, to the Yarmouth Carnival Committee. We had so much fun!”
