An Isle of Wight carnival is to introduce a 'quiet zone' for those wanting to watch the parade without loud noise.
Organisers of Sandown Illuminated Carnival say they have designated a street where spectators wanting this option can see the procession.
Floats travelling along this road will be mindful, and turn the music and sound down when the procession passes through, they said.

A spokesperson for Sandown Carnival said: "The idea is to offer an area for spectators who prefer to enjoy the parade without loud noise from the bands and floats, an initiative supported by Arts Council England."
Royal Crescent, at the western end of the route, will be the designated 'quiet zone'.
The Illuminated Carnival sets off from Sandown Library at 8.30pm.
It is taking place on Wednesday (30).
