Travel between the Isle of Wight and Southampton is facing disruption this afternoon (Friday, September 1), with Red Funnel confirming an hour-long delay.
A technical issue with the Red Falcon's Aft Main Engine Exhaust Bellows saw the ferry pulled from service and two-morning sailings cancelled.
At midday, the cross-Solent travel provider announced its vehicle ferry was delayed by 30-40 minutes due to the earlier cancellations and high traffic volumes.
These delays have now been increased to an hour, Red Funnel says, following a medical emergency.
A spokesperson from Red Funnel said: "Our teams are working hard to reduce these delays, and we apologise for any disruption to your journey."
- UPDATE 6.30pm: Delays have now been cut down to 20-30 minutes.
