A MAN from the Isle of Wight arrested in connection with a string of arson attacks in East Cowes — causing upwards of £400,000 of damage — has been set free on police bail.
Yesterday (Friday), a man from East Cowes, aged 56, was arrested on suspicion of committing the crimes, which happened between July 14 last year and June 16.

It is estimated more than a dozen vehicles are suspected of being deliberately torched, causing an estimated £350,000 to £400,000 worth of damage.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed the suspect was released on police bail until December 1 pending further inquiries.
