Yarmouth RNLI's crew were called to Blackrock buoy, outside Yarmouth Harbour, on Saturday evening (September 2).
They were alongside the casualty vessel by 6:25pm, where they found the motorboat already under tow by a passing smaller boat.
The decision was made for the RNLI to take over the tow and two crew members boarded.
Once in the harbour, Sea Start (a marine assistance company) would then take the boat safely back to Southampton.
