FIREFIGHTERS are responding to a suspected kitchen fire in Wroxall this evening (Sunday).

UPDATE: "Smokin' Jack's by name, Smokin' Jack's by nature."

That's the reaction from one Isle of Wight pub, after a 'small' fire broke out in its kitchen

They were called to the scene at around 8pm.

Crews from Newport, Shanklin and Sandown are among those called to the scene on the High Street.

A spokesperson for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said the fire involved an extractor fan in a restaurant - Smokin' Jack's.

Two breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, a covering jet and a short extenson ladder were used to bring the fire under control.
