Smokin' Jack's by name, Smokin' Jack's by nature.

That's the reaction from one Isle of Wight pub, after a 'small' fire broke out in its kitchen tonight (Sunday).

Crews from Newport, Shanklin and Sandown were all called to Smokin' Jack's on Wroxall High Street at around 8pm.

Two breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, a covering jet and a short extenson ladder were all used to bring the fire under control.

Reacting to the situation, a spokesperson for the business said: "Our kitchen has had a small fire and is currently being dealt with by the wonderful fire brigade.

"Well, Smokin' Jack's by name, Smokin' Jack's by nature.

"We’re all safe, just letting them do their jobs."
