An Isle of Wight care home got stuck in and made some delicious cakes in aid of Macmillan cancer's World's Biggest Coffee Morning.
Residents at Old Charlton House Care Home in Cowes joined in sharing their memories of cake making during war time, whilst baking their creations.
Once the cakes had cooled, they had fun decorating them, but not all the toppings went on the cakes - some just seemed to disappear - especially the chocolate buttons!
Once the baking was completed, residents enjoyed the age old tradition of 'licking the spoon'.
The home held a coffee morning last Friday (September 29), and everyone enjoyed the fruits of the labour.
Resident, Joan, enjoyed shaking the collection basket at everyone who came through the doors!
The residents raised £42 and were rightly very proud of themselves.
Marilyn, another resident at the Home, said: "It’s been a lovely morning, and the cakes were absolutely delicious.”
Debbie Webb, activity coordinator, said: "It is important for our residents to feel connected to the world outside of the care home, and this is one way that they can contribute to it.
"They all had a marvellous time and delighted in making and decorating their cupcakes."
