The final day of the Isle of Wight Literary Festival will round off with a gala evening starring Dame Maureen Lipman.

1. The Red Hotel. Alan Philps’ latest book explores the little-known story of how Stalin created his own reality in the Second World War, silencing Western journalists in Russia and presenting a very different view of how the conflict unfolded.
2. Anne Boleyn and Queen Elizabeth I: The Mother and Daughter who Changed History. Historical author Tracy Borman takes up the story of these iconic figures in British history and examines the influence of Anne Boleyn over Elizabeth before her execution.
3. Professor David Tomalin looks at the history of Vectis (the Roman name for the Isle of Wight) in this captivating talk. Learn more about how the Romans left their mark on the Island.
4. Journalist Isabel Hardman was due to tells the story of our beloved NHS. This talk has been CANCELLED.
5. Red Wine and Bloody Murder. Retired judge Wendy Joseph KC, crime writer Elly Griffiths and former detective Jackie Malton discuss the differences between true crime and fictional crime in this session that is a must for the fans of Britain’s best-loved fiction genre.

The festival finishes today after four days of speakers, primarily based at Northwood House in Cowes.
