SCORES of people from the Isle of Wight — from the serious runner or elite athlete, to those who run for a charity close to their hearts — put their best foot forward in this year's Great South Run.

The event, held in Portsmouth on Sunday, in glorious autumnal conditions, saw thousands cheer runners on and gave encouragement all along the route.

It’s an emotive race for everyone and the event draws people from across the country.
