RSPCA Isle of Wight says it only has until the end of the year to find Pebbles the dog a new home.
With a ban on rehoming American XL Bullies on the horizon, Pebbles is in desperate need of her forever home.
The wonderful pooch, who was neglected and abandoned, loves being fussed over and craves companionship.
“Everyone who has had the pleasure of meeting Pebbles has fallen in love with her,” said a spokesperson for the charity.
“She really has touched all our hearts.
“She has been working with staff at the centre on a behaviour modification programme and has progressed far already.
“She would be able to be left for short periods once settled.
“She has done well with her socialisation around other dogs and is now much happier walking in closer proximity to them.”

Pebbles is looking for a home where:
● There are at least two adults to ensure her training is as effective as possible.
● There is a calm and predictable environment while she transitions into the new home.
● A home based on the Isle of Wight so trained staff can continue to support behavioural training.
● Owners committed to giving her a special diet to help with allergies and preventative ear medication (the centre will help with the costs of these).
● Owners continue training advised by a behaviourist and accept her limitations.
Following a rise in attacks and fatalities involving XL Bully dogs, the government has added this breed to the list of dogs banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.
To help current owners adapt to the new laws, these changes will come into force in two stages.
From December 31, it will be against the law to:
- Sell an XL Bully dog
- Abandon an XL Bully dog or let it stray
- Give away an XL Bully dog
- Breed from an XL Bully dog
- Have an XL Bully in public without a lead and muzzle
From February 1, 2024, it will be a criminal offence to own an XL Bully dog in England and Wales unless your dog has a Certificate of Exemption.
