WHEN you are out and about around the Isle of Wight this coming week, be sure to know which roadworks to avoid in some of the major towns.
Thanks to Island Roads, we have provided a handy selection of those worth avoiding.
IN COWES
- Arctic Road — will close during tree works, between its junctions with Newport Road and Bernard Road, from 8am on Tuesday until 4pm on Wednesday.
IN RYDE
- George Street — will shut during carriageway repair works, between its junctions with Star Street and Melville Street, over one shift sometime between Tuesday and Thursday.
IN NEWPORT:
- Banner Lane — will close during utility works, between a point 25m west of its junction with Hunnyhill and Albany Road, from 8am tomorrow (Monday) and 5pm on Monday, January 29.
- Burnt House Lane — will shut during utility works, between its junction with Arreton Footpath 25 and Little Sullens access road, between 9.30am and 3.30pm on Thursday.
IN VENTNOR:
- Bonchurch Village Road — will close during tree works, between its junctions with Shore Road and Bonchurch Shute, from 7am tomorrow (Monday) and 5pm on Friday, January 19.
IN SHANKLIN:
- Appley Steps — will shut for safety and repairs, along its entire length, between 00.01am tomorrow (Monday) and 11.59pm on Sunday, January 12, next year. An alternative route will be signposted.
- Osborne Steps — will close for safety and repairs, along its entire length, between 00.01am tomorrow (Monday) and 11.59pm on Sunday, January 12, next year. An alternative route will be signposted.
- Eastcliff Promenade — will shut for safety and repairs, along its entire length, between 00.01am tomorrow (Monday) and 11.59pm on Sunday, January 12, next year. An alternative route will be signposted.
