WHEN you are out and about around the Isle of Wight this coming week, be sure to know which roadworks to avoid in some of the major towns.

Thanks to Island Roads, we have provided a handy selection of those worth avoiding.

IN NEWPORT:

  • Barton Road — will shut during carriageway repair works, between its junctions with Royal Exchange and Robin Hood Street, in one shift sometime between Wednesday and Friday, January 26. An alternative route will be signposted.
  • Marvel Lane — will close during street furniture repair works, between its junctions with Nunnery Lane and Copse Lane, in one shift sometime between Wednesday and Friday, January 26. An alternative route will be signposted.

IN SANDOWN:

  • Albion Road — will close during utility works, along its entire length, from 8am tomorrow (Monday) and 6.30pm on Wednesday. An alternative route will be signposted.
  • Drabbles Lane — will shut during utility works, along its entire length, from 8am on Wednesday until 6.30pm on Friday, January 26. There is no alternative route.
  • Fort Mews — will close during utility works, along its entire length, from 8am tomorrow (Monday) until 6.30pm on Wednesday. There is no alternative route.
  • Park Mews — will shut during utility works, along its entire length, from 8am tomorrow (Monday) until 6.30pm on Wednesday. There is no alternative route.
  • High Street — will close during utility works, between its junctions with Albert Road and Melville Street, from 8am on Wednesday until 6pm on Friday, January 26. An alternative route will be signposted.
  • Parsonage Road — will shut during utility works, along its entire length, from 8am on Tuesday until 6.30pm on Thursday. There is no alternative route.

IN VENTNOR:

  • Castle Road — will shut during utility works, between its junctions with Gills Cliff Road and a point 50m south-west thereof, between 8.30am and 4.30pm on Wednesday. An alternative route will be signposted.

IN RYDE:

  • Lower Highland Road — will close during utility works, between its junctions with Surbiton Road and Upper Highland Road, from 8am on Monday and 5pm on Wednesday, January 31. An alternative route will be signposted.
  • Rowlands Lane — will shut during carriageway repair works, between its junctions with Ryde Footpath 12, Havenstreet and Mersley Downs Road, Arreton, in one shift sometime between tomorrow (Monday) and Wednesday. An alternative route will be signposted.
  • Cross Street — will close during utility works, between its junctions with Union Road and Union Street, from 7pm tomorrow (Monday) and 6.30am on Tuesday. An alternative route will be signposted.

IN SHANKLIN:

  • Clarendon Road — will close during carriageway repair works, between its junctions with Regent Street and Queens Road, in one shift sometime between tomorrow (Monday) and Wednesday. An alternative route will be signposted.
  • Marine Cross Road — will shut during carriageway repair works, along its entire length, in one shift sometime between Wednesday and Friday, January 26. An alternative route will be signposted.
