Isle of Wight ferry passengers booked on Wightlink were left stranded last night (Saturday), when boats were suddenly cancelled.
The 10pm departure from Portsmouth and the 11pm from Fishbourne were both scrapped, due to what the operator called a 'technical issue' in a post on X.
It said: "There will be no sailings until our scheduled service begins again at 0500hrs, Sun 25 Feb".
It added a FastCat sailing, between Portsmouth and Ryde, just after midnight for what it called 'late night travellers'.
Sorry, due to a technical issue, there will be no sailings after 2200 from Ports and 2300 from Fish tonight, Sat 24 Feb until our scheduled service begins again at 0500hrs Sun 25 Feb.

There will be an additional FastCat sailing from H-R at 0015 for any late night travellers.
The two terminals are different and the FastCat is for foot passengers only.
We've asked Wightlink how many passengers were affected and if there was any compensation for those to had to find a hotel.

The firm's boats appear to be running to schedule this morning, on all routes.
