Over the last year, the NSPCC has delivered its Speak out Stay safe programme to more than 331,000 children across 1,166 schools in London and the South East.
Speak out Stay safe has been running since 2011 and helps primary school children understand abuse in an age appropriate way so they can understand when something is wrong and how to seek help from a safe adult.
On average two children in a primary school class will have experienced some form of abuse or neglect, so the need for safeguarding programmes like this is clear.
The NSPCC is now rolling out a refreshed version of Speak out Stay safe alongside a new promotional video and the charity is encouraging all schools on the Isle of Wight to sign up.
Speak out Stay safe is available in all primary schools, with specially designed virtual assemblies and lesson plans.
