A HORSE in difficulty has been successfully rescued thanks to a team of firefighters.
A large animal rescue took place at a farm on Blackwater Road in Newport just after 11am today (Sunday).
In attendance from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service was a water tender ladder and water tender from Newport, an aerial rescue appliance, a 4x4 from Ryde and an officer.
The horse was released prior to arrival by the owners and vet.
