THE Isle of Wight’s Newport Minster is running a special project this year, inviting young people to produce their own event.

As part of Heritage Open Days, Islanders aged between 18 and 25 are encouraged to get involved and design a bespoke event/activity/exhibition based in and around the minster.

It is an opportunity for people to gain new experiences and confidence, and there is a modest budget to help cover refreshments and materials.

You can find out more by heading to Newport Minster at 5.30pm on Monday, April 8.

Everyone is welcome.

The theme this year is routes, networks and connections.

“There is 1,000 years of history here,” said Newport Minster Community Engagement Coordinator Hannah Griffiths.

“This could be the project for you!”

To find out more, and let the minster know you are coming, you can contact Hannah on 07563247758, or by emailing cec@cofeheartofwight.org.
