Police have released an update following a head-on collision, which saw one person suffer a serious injury this afternoon (Wednesday, April 10).

Police were called just before 2.50pm to reports of a collision on Tennyson Road, near the Thorley Road junction, in Yarmouth.

The crash involved a black Audi and a beige Renault in the outbound lane.

A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed one person has suffered a serious injury to their wrist and has been taken to hospital.

The road was closed while emergency teams dealt with the incident but has since reopened.
