The Isle of Wight is set to feature on the new series of a travel programme on Channel 5.
The second season of The Big Steam Adventure hit screens earlier this month, with viewers able to see the beautiful Island countryside during Friday evening's show (May 10).
The series features journalist and presenter John Sergeant, actor Peter Davison and steam officiando Paul ‘Piglet’ Middleton as they explore Britain’s countryside by steam.
In this episode, John, Peter and Piglet will board the Waverley, the last passenger steamship, and navigate the Solent.
On the Island, they will take a century-old Sentinel steam lorry to Carisbrooke Castle via the scenic Military Road.
Exploring the castle’s history leads to a boule game, with John treating Piglet and Peter at the Crab Shed at Steephill Cove in Ventnor.
The next day, they ride the IW Steam Railway, with Peter trying carriage restoration before boarding the 135-year-old steam engine, Calbourne.
Toward Bembridge, John and Peter hitch a ride on Dragon Fly, a converted steam roller turned showman’s wagon.
The episode will air at 8pm on Friday, May 10 on Channel 5.
