Bob Seely, who has served as Isle of Wight MP since 2017, launched his 2024 General Election campaign for the new Isle of Wight West Parliamentary constituency at a rally in Newport yesterday (Thursday) evening.

Since 2017, and working with others such as the Isle of Wight Council, the NHS and voluntary and community groups, Bob says he has helped to deliver £175 million of additional Government investment in the Island.

Bob said: “It’s been a pleasure to serve the Island and to be its local champion in Parliament. I’m standing again because although we’ve done a lot there is more to do."

Bob said as a former soldier, service was at the heart of everything he tried to do, "fighting to make sure Islanders were listened to".

Bob said his six-point plan for the Island was:

Campaigning for jobs and investment, such as apprenticeships.

Campaigning for the Military Road, with an already proposed plan of action.

Campaigning to get a better deal on the ferries.

Working with Police and Crime boss Donna Jones to deliver more police and safer streets.

Protecting the Island’s green spaces while prioritising genuinely affordable homes for Islanders.

Working with Island groups to deliver a better deal.
