EMERGENCY coastguard services were called out to an incident involving the Floating Bridge.
Cowes RNLI lifeboat, in partnership with Bembridge and Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Teams and the Cowes Harbourmaster, were called out at 5.35am yesterday (Sunday, July 7).
Solent Coastguard received a report of a yacht coming into contact with the chains used to operate the ferry, on the River Medina, and getting snagged.
Thanks to the lifeboat crew, the vessel was freed and taken, under tow, to Cowes for safety checks.
