FIREFIGHTERS have been sent to extinguish a garden shed and camper van at an Isle of Wight residence.
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service was called to the blaze in Desmond Price Close, Lake, at 6.49pm today (Thursday).
Thick, black smoke has also been seen in the area of Lake Green Road and Percy Road.
Two appliances from Ryde and one from Shanklin and Sandown were sent to the scene.

UPDATE 7.25pm: Fire control has said a camper van at the address is also alight, though it is uncertain whether the fire spread from the camper van or the shed.
The fire service has advised householders in areas affected by smoke, to close their windows.
UPDATE 7.45pm: Residents heard an explosion in the area of the fire.
UPDATE 7.51pm: Residents living in Sandown said they heard the 'bang' of an explosion, while a resident living near the fire said the fire was under control and everyone was safe.
