AN ACCUSATION of trying to throttle a man will see a man stand trial before a jury.
Lloyd Thomas, of Park Road, Cowes, denied intentional strangulation, on Fairlee Road, Newport, on April 29, when he appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court on Tuesday last week (July 16).
The charge was changed from one of common assault by the Crown Prosecution Service.
Magistrates declined jurisdiction of the case and bailed the 37-year-old, to reappear for a plea and trial preparation hearing, at the Isle of Wight Crown Court, on August 15.
