An Isle of Wight man has denied a string of child sex offences, including attempting to engage in sexual activity with a 12-year-old.
Daryl Lyon, of Golden Ridge, Freshwater, attended the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, July 23.
The 38-year-old pleaded not guilty to attempting to cause a child under 13 to watch/look at an image of sexual activity, two counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and three counts of making indecent photographs/ pseudo-photographs of a child.
Mr Lyon is also alleged to have made indecent photographs and videos of children, namely 210 Category A (the most serious) images including 90 videos, 113 Category B including 18 videos and 119 Category C including 14 videos.
The prosecutor, Liz Miller, said the case was not suitable to be heard in the magistrates’ court, and Rachel Wigley, defending, made no submissions to the court.
Mr Lyon will appear before a crown court judge on August 27 for a pre-trial preparation hearing and was granted unconditional bail.
