ISLE of Wight police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage as part of their investigation into a collision involving a BMW and a pedestrian.

At around 11.15am on Sunday, August 11, officers were alerted to a collision between a grey BMW 425 and a woman in her 40s.

The latter was crossing the road at the zebra crossing at the bottom of Sandown High Street.

The pedestrian suffered a serious leg injury and was taken to hospital for treatment.
