It's a new beginning at Wessex Cancer Support in Newport as it announces the appointment of a new centre manager.
Liz Tapsell has taken on the role, overseeing the delivery of services including counselling, therapies, and both group and drop-in sessions.
She is a former client and volunteer at the centre, and has been promoted from her role of centre co-ordinator.
An overjoyed Ms Tapsell said: "I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to lead Wessex Cancer Support’s services on the Island.
"I’ll be working hard to further the charity’s connections in the local community to ensure everyone who would benefit from our support knows where to find it.
"I've already been working closely with Laura, the Isle of Wight’s regional fundraising manager, to give the centre a spruce up, including a lick of paint, swap around of rooms, and a good clear out."
Wessex Cancer Support relies on donations to provide free and local emotional support to anyone affected by cancer in Hampshire, Dorset, and the Isle of Wight.
