An Isle of Wight man denies stalking a woman for seven months and leaving her gifts from a “secret admirer”.
Nicholas Elliot, of Cliff End Monks Lane, Freshwater, appeared before the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on Friday, August 23.
Mr Elliot denied stalking without fear, alarm or distress.
It is said that between June 1, 2023, and January 1, 2024, Mr Elliot allegedly stalked a woman in Yarmouth, which he knew or ought to have known amounted to harassment.
Mr Elliot allegedly identified the woman over a period of two years, located her home address, asked about her in a local cafe and, on December 22 and December 31, it is said he attended her address and left gifts and cards from a “secret admirer.”
The 58-year-old denies the allegations and will return to magistrates’ court on February 5, 2025, for trial.
Mr Elliot was granted bail, with conditions.
