Over 60,000 burpees were completed by members of CrossFit Incursion, a strength and conditioning gym based in Ryde - and all in a good cause.
Last month, around 70 enthusiastic participants stormed the sands of Appley beach at 9.30am to raise a remarkable £4,090.76 for Mountbatten.
Camilla Barton, who co-owns the gym with Nolan Hermans, said: "We want to thank everyone for all their burpee efforts, and all family, friends and passers by for generously donating.
"The challenge took nearly four hours with each participant completing between 100 and 1,150 burpees, depending on their fitness level!
"There were a few achy bodies afterwards, but everyone enjoyed themselves and did their best – it was an awesome team effort from the CrossFit Incursion community, for an amazing cause!"
The challenge is now in its fifth year.
Harri McNeil, community fundraising assistant at Mountbatten, said: "Thank you so much for arranging such a huge event, we really appreciate your support. The money raised will make such a huge difference to Island patients and their families."
