An Isle of Wight falconry has announced that it is moving locations.

The Falconry Experience, also known as Haven Falconry, is due to move to Butterfly World at Medina Garden Centre in the winter.

The falconry has been located at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway in Havenstreet since July 2016.

It cites financial constraints as a reason for the move.

The Falconry Experience is asking for donations to help with the logistics of relocating.

In a statement, the falconry said: "The centre urgently requires manpower, trucks, lorries and skips as well as materials like wood, gravel and sand, all of which come with a substantial financial burden.

"Community support in terms of volunteer labour, equipment, or donations of materials would be invaluable in ensuring a successful move, and maintaining the well-being of their birds."

Butterfly World said in a statement: "This is a move that will not only secure the future of The Falconry Experience and their beautiful birds, but will also enhance both visitor attractions by offering new experiences for the public to enjoy.

"Discussions are currently taking place between both parties to enable us to work together for future events such as Easter and Halloween and also by offering joint entry tickets into both animal attractions.

"Working together with The Falconry Experience will make 2025 a very exciting year for us all and will hopefully confirm our position as one of the Island's most enjoyable attractions."
