Three-way traffic lights, paired with a nearby road closure, are causing traffic disruption on the Isle of Wight today (Tuesday, September 17).
Traffic lights on York Avenue are leading to delays for motorists travelling in and out of East Cowes, further worsened by added traffic disembarking the Red Funnel ferry.
The reason for the temporary lights is to allow Island Roads to carry out highway improvement works.
Just down the road, Adelaide Grove is partially closed due to more improvement works, leaving the two major routes in and out of the town either shut or under three-way traffic control.
Work on Adelaide Grove is scheduled to end on September 30, while improvements on York Avenue could run until October 29.
These dates from estimates from Island Roads and OneNetwork UK.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
