A fire which completely gutted a car and spread to a nearby property sparked a callout for Isle of Wight firefighters in the early hours of this morning (Friday).
At around 3.45am, two fire crews from Sandown and Shanklin were called to the scene in a car park near Stower Place in Sandown.
They were responding to a report of a car fire, and firefighters used two breathing apparatus and a pair of hose reel jets to bring it under control.
A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said minor damage was caused to a property due to its proximity to the fire, which has completely destroyed a Toyota.
It appears the blaze spread to a fence and also caused damage to a wheelie bin.
