An Isle of Wight yellow weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for Thursday and Friday this week.
The national forecaster has warned that heavy rain will bring the potential for some flooding and disruption to transport.
Starting from 5pm tomorrow (Thursday), the yellow warning runs through until 10am on Friday.
The Met Office says there is a slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses, as well as a small chance of flooding.
The forecast states that, whilst some areas will miss the worst, areas of heavy, showery rain are expected to become widespread across a swathe of England and Wales during Thursday evening and into Friday morning.
Some locations may see up to 20-33mm of rain in 2-3 hours and perhaps 40-60mm in 4-6 hours, the Met Office said.
Lightning and strong, gusty winds may be additional hazards for the Island and other southern coastal areas.
Due to the recent wet weather, this will bring the potential for further flooding and transport disruption.
The Island's local forecaster, the IW Met Service, has not released any weather warnings or alerts.
