Island Roads is set to improve parts of two busy Shanklin roads - but there will be some closures and diversions.
Work on Landguard Road and Landguard Manor Road is scheduled to start on Monday, September 30, and will last for five weeks.
The project involves digging up the roads to fix underlying problems that have led to surface damage. Due to the depth of the work, the roads will be closed throughout the project.
However, the work will be carried out in six phases to minimise disruption.
Only the section being worked on will be closed, with diversions signposted locally. Pedestrian access will be maintained, with occasional short diversions.
Island Roads has liaised with local businesses, Shanklin Fire Station, and Shanklin Police Station to make alternative arrangements, including a temporary loading bay in Regent Street from 6am to noon.
Landguard Road car park will also be closed during the later phases of the project due to safety concerns.
An Island Roads spokesperson said: "We have programmed these works for a period between high summer and the Christmas season to minimise the disruption for local traffic and businesses."
