THE national Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for strong winds threatening the Isle of Wight on Sunday (September 29).
In the warning, the forecast states winds will strengthen from west to east during Sunday, with gusts of 50-55mph likely in places, especially near coasts and over/to the west of high ground, perhaps exceeding 60mph in the most exposed areas.
Currently, the fringe of the warning area is about 20 miles from the West Wight, which could change over the next 24 hours.
