A BELOVED Isle of Wight men's clothes shop is closing its doors for the final time this afternoon (Saturday).

Fields, on Sandown High Street, has been trading for more than 130 years.

It started off as a tailor and outfitter before transitioning into a retail store, but today is the last day to shop at the Sandown site. 

The store, which is having a clearance sale, with many items at half price, is expected to close at 2.30pm this afternoon. 

While the Sandown branch is closing, other Fields shops will continue trading. 

A retirement is the reason for the closure, the County Press has been told.
