A man in his 50s remains in custody after being charged with weapon offences following an incident at an Isle of Wight seafront hotel.
Matthew Lewendon, 53, has been remanded to appear before the IW Crown Court, charged with two counts of threatening a person with an offensive weapon.
Mr Lewendon was arrested on Station Avenue in Sandown yesterday (Wednesday, October 2) after what police described as a “short e-bike vs trainers pursuit.”
The arrest was in relation to an alleged incident on September 27 at Premier Inn on Sandown Esplanade, in which a man was said to have threatened staff with a dog lead.
Mr Lewendon appeared before magistrates earlier today and was further remanded in custody to appear before a crown court judge on November 11.
