Bus shelters on an Isle of Wight esplanade are being replaced around a year after being installed, following concerns over corrosion and their 'shelf-like' high seats.
The shelters, at Ryde Bus Station, were put in place as part of the multi-million pound Ryde Interchange upgrade.
Over a year on, the Isle of Wight Council said it is 'unhappy' with the quality of the shelters as they have 'quickly showed corrosion'.
Many bus users also complained the seats were 'too high' and more like 'shelves'.

One person said: "They certainly need to sort the seating out as we are not a budgerigar.
"We don’t need perches we need seats!"
Another added: "They are being replaced with seats, not the shelves they have now.
"Hopefully we will get some seats actually under cover as there are none when it’s raining."
A spokesperson for the council said: "We deferred installing lower seat heights in response to local concerns, while the supplier tried alternative treatments to resolve the corrosion.
“This did not resolve the issue, so the shelters are now being replaced in response to our concern for the quality."
"We have taken the opportunity to specify lower seat heights within the new shelters".
The council said the replacement will incur no extra cost.
