Two Isle of Wight petrol stations will close for four days, starting tomorrow afternoon (Sunday, October 13), as part of a ‘changeover’ period with new owners moving in.
Morrisons’ Newport and Lake petrol stations are due to shut at around 1pm tomorrow to allow the new company and team to take over, the supermarket chain told the County Press.
The ‘changeover’ period will close the forecourts until Friday (October 18).
Earlier this year, Morrisons agreed a £2.5 billion deal to sell all of its 337 petrol forecourts to the Motor Fuel Group (MFG)

Under the deal, MFG takes on fuel and convenience retail operations.
It is understood that there will be no Island job losses following the takeover, with Morrisons staff resuming other positions at the supermarkets.
Customers will still be able to collect their Morrisons More points at both petrol stations, a spokesperson confirmed.
Under the deal, MGF will also take on more than 400 electric charging (EV) sites across the UK and plans to invest in further expanding the EV network, including on the Island.
As previously reported, planning permission to install an EV charging zone at Morrisons in Newport has been submitted to Island Roads.
MFG plans to remove 13 existing bays in the supermarket’s car park and a dead tree next to the petrol station.
If the proposal moves ahead, six electric vehicle charging bays would be created along with three Alpitronic HYC 300 chargers.
