Hovertravel's Southsea terminal, which provides hovercraft crossings to the Isle of Wight, will see limited access as sea defence works start today (Monday October 21).
Clarence Pier Road will close for 18 months from Hovertravel's Southsea terminal to the D-Day Museum.
Sea defence works will begin on Monday October 21 as part of the Southsea Coastal Scheme.
All vehicles will be diverted to Pier Road.
Clarence Pier Road parking will be unavailable as works are completed.
The Esplanade car park will remain operational.
Pedestrians can use a walkway diversion across Southsea Common to access the Blue Reef area.
Elsewhere, ferry services on the Island were disrupted last week, with both Wightlink and Red Funnel cancelling sailings.
Red Funnel blamed reduced visibility for the cancellations.
Red Eagle spent the morning in a holding position outside the East Cowes terminal, with customers waiting at the terminal asked to return at 12pm.
Hovertravel, Red Jet and FastCat services also experienced delays.
