Missing dog plea put out after involvement in Isle of Wight car crash
"That had to be one of the hardest dog searches I’ve done," said Simon Ledger, a volunteer with the Island's TrackAdog Team.
"Poor Karma had been in a car that crashed upside down the night before last, and was apparently unconscious, then came around and fled.
"Volunteers from TrackADog Team and @dronesarisleofwight conducted searches all day.
"Then, after a potential sighting, I raced over and met up with Stu, Ben and Niall from Drone SAR and we could hear barking.
"I had to climb through 7ft high gorse for about 10-12 metres, then fell into a stream. But hiding under a log, in the stream, was the gorgeous Karma.
"We managed to get her out somehow. She’s been checked over by the vet and seems to be okay!
"Thanks to all the volunteers involved today, team work definitely makes the dream work!"
Speaking on behalf of Karma's relieved and delighted owners, Molly Keen, said: "Karma is home safe! Biggest thank yous to the TrackAdog Team and Drone SAR For Lost Dogs IOW, who we couldn't have found her without.
"And to the guys working for IslandLine down at St John's Station, who couldn't do enough to help — also the lady who called me at 10.55pm with the first possible sighting of Karma that led us to eventually finding her.
"Thanks also to everyone who has shared her missing post, or been out looking. Myself and Karma's owners really appreciate it."
