AN ISLE of Wight schoolboy has been offered places at some of the country's top state-funded grammar schools.
Parinith Mahesh, a Year 6 pupil at Queensgate Foundation Primary School in East Cowes, has aced 11-plus exams across the UK and has chosen his preferred grammar school.

The talented Island-born youngster was offered places at several top state-funded grammar schools after excelling in the entrance exams.
Parinith, whose parents are of Indian origin, has opted for Sir Thomas Rich’s School in Gloucester to continue his education from next year.
He passed the 11-plus exams at Ripon Grammar in Yorkshire, Bexley County, Redbridge, Buckinghamshire County, Essex County, Warwickshire County, The Triffin School, Wiltshire County and Sutton County.

He chose the Gloucestershire school after scoring in the top ten per cent of students taking their test.
As well as his academic excellence, Parinith also enjoys many sports, music and interests around his Hindu Indian heritage.
He plays for East Cowes Cricket Club, Vectis RFC and Seaclose Swimming Club, not to mention taking Taekwondo classes.
Parinith also sings in the school choir and takes piano lessons and is learning Sanskrit Vedas, and runs a YouTube channel called PariNithya, where he shares his sloka chanting of Hindu gods.
His dad, Mahesh, said: "We are very proud of his achievements and look forward to him studying at Sir Thomas Rich’s School."
