AN ISLE of Wight solicitor accused of various child sex abuse offences and possession of extreme pornography will stand trial next year.
Stuart Nuttall, of Stonelands Park, Ryde, appeared before a judge at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on Monday, November 18.
He denied a string of charges - 12 in total.
The 53-year-old served as a director of the IW Youth Trust between 2013 and 2018 and as a governor of Ryde Academy between 2007 and 2010.
His charges are as follows:
- Two counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.
- Three counts of making an indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child.
- Three counts of distributing an indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child.
- Attempting to cause/incite a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity.
- Attempting to cause a child under the age of 13 to watch/look at an image of sexual activity.
- Attempting to cause a child aged between 13 and 15 to watch/look at an image of sexual activity.
- Possession of extreme pornographic images/images portraying an act of intercourse/oral sex with a dead/alive animal.
Of the indecent images of children, Mr Nuttall is accused of possessing 206 category A images – the worst kind – 486 Category B images, and 168 Category C images.
Of those he is accused of distributing, they comprise 11 Category A images, 31 Category B images, and 12 Category C images.
He is also accused of possessing three extreme pornographic images portraying a person performing an explicit act of intercourse with an animal, namely a horse.
The charges relate to dates between February 19, 2023, and March 5, 2024.
Mr Nuttall saw his case adjourned for a trial on July 28.
He was granted unconditional bail.
