On Saturday, June 10, at Southampton's Coalporters-hosted regatta, on the River Itchen, Newport Rowing Club entered crews in the Men's Novice and Women's Masters 40+ categories.
Unfortunately, Newport didn't qualify for the final.
The Novice men, Will Loveday-Powell, Connor Garner, Boris Hare, Artur Rozvodovski, coxed by Marianna Hare, 12, won their heat comfortably but just missed out on a fastest losers' spot.
Making it to the semi-final, the Women's Masters crew were Julia Wilks, Julia Coulson, Julie Clarke, Fran Ladd.
They were coxed by Nick Salter.
Meanwhile, Marianna was runner up in the cox of the day award.
