WITH some very wet weather forecast, the Wightlink Warriors management have pulled the plug on tomorrow’s (Thursday) speedway meeting at Smallbrook Stadium in Ryde.
Isle of Wight Speedway co-owner, Martin Widman, said: “Sadly, we're faced with several forecasts that shows poor conditions, which look like they will stop us getting on track and preparing the racing strip properly.
"This has led to the decision to cancel the meeting. We haven’t taken this action lightly, as the first week of the school summer holidays are usually attract one of best attendances of the season.
"We don’t want to waste people’s time or money viewing sub-standard action and going away disappointed — but we hope the weather gods are kinder next week when the Warriors take on the Rye House Rockets in a team challenge."
It is hoped to announce a restaging date for the Nora British Upright Championship qualifying round later today.
